Now that I'm having all sorts of weekdays off here and there (not to mention daylight savings!), my internal clock is officially gone crazy. But you betcha I was delighted to discover that yesterday was a Sunday, hence my lunch plans with coworkers had turn into brunch plans! I love brunch!
I made my mile walk over to Smoke Modern Barbecue. We sipped on some Bloody Mary made with XXX super spicy hot sauce, and got are grub faces on!
Amy got the bananas foster french toast served alongside grits... perfectly disguised dessert in a brunch meal!
While I munched on BBQ Hash made with crispy "burnt end" has browns, topped with two over-easy eggs with cheddar, tomatoes, and scallions. To. die. for!
I doused my plate with a mixture of the Texas style barbecue sauce (with a kick!) and tabasco! I loved their cute casual atmosphere. So exciting to see a restaurant as "bumpin'" as Smoke seeing this whole off-season dreadfulness in the Aspen area. Can't wait for the winter season to kick off... only 2 weeks left!
I love how Amy's 4-month old Dax's baby bottle is next to our cocktails. Oops!
I've also been experimenting with my oatmeal and cereal toppings these days to jazz up the everyday ordinary. One day I topped my oatmeal with my usual mixture of dried berries, toasted almonds, and coconut flakes. LOVE coconut flakes. To be honest, however, these were too sweet for my already-sweet oatmeal. Sorry coconut flakes!
Then yesterday my usual bananas + cereal mixture got a surprise guest. Blueberries! Talk about boosting my immune system with antioxidants :) . Oh yea, I might've tossed in some coconut flakes in there too, haha.
I changed the color palette of my blog, the white dominance from my previous color scheme was a bit freaky don't ya think?
